Glitter Pink Ombre | Get the look!

1. Apply a coat of light pink lipstick to your entire lips. Matte lipstick works best for this look.

2. Using a lip brush, start at the corners of your mouth and blend in a slightly darker shade of pink.

3. For a deeper ombre, go back in with a dark pink. I used a dark red. Darken only the very corners of your lips.

4. Make sure everything is blended well. Dabbing your finger over the lipstick will help to blend the colors.

5. Using a glitter adhesive, apply your chosen glitter to the lightest areas in your lips. You don't need a

Makeup Tutorials: Highlighting and Contouring - Beauty by JJ

A lot of people get confused when they hear highlighting and contouring, I used to be so I know. Well here are the difference and how you can achieve it. The truth is most celebs you thinks are flawless uses this trick. So I think it is time you start too.

Highlighting is when you use a lighter shade on the higher planes of the face such as the cheekbones, brow bones, nose, chin, cupid’s bow of the lips, under the eyes, and inside the tear ducts. The idea is to mimic the effect of light on the face.

While Contouring is using a darker color to hollow or recede. Like making a wide nose pointy by shading either side, starting from below the bridge and ending above the nostrils, and contouring under the jawbone to define the jawline and slim the neck.

There are lots of videos on highlighting and contouring which I will be bringing so you know the right shade for your skin colour. But for today let take a look at how Jennie Jenkins highlights and contour. I learned  most of the things I know about makeup from her.

6 Eye shadow mistakes you should avoid

Makeup should be used to enhance our natural beauty not to make us look like a masquerade. The eye no doubt get most of the attention more than other features in our body so we must be careful with what and how we apply our eye shadows. Below are most mistakes we should avoid...

1) Using blush as an eyeshadow.
Many makeup artists advice time saving makeup tricks and one of them is to sweep your blush colour across your lids and use it as your eyeshadow. This tip can sound useful and time saving but, in most cases, it can only look good on artistic pictures for glossy magazines. Rose, red or peachy colours, usually, don’t look flattering on our eyes in real life. So, avoid using your blush as an eyeshadow!

2) Liquid foundation as an eyeshadow base.

When you apply your liquid foundation on your lids as a base for your eye makeup, in most cases it creates more harm than good, because the foundation wasn’t designed for this purpose; it’s more likely to crease and can make your eyes look tired instead of pretty. To get a neat and beautiful eye makeup – apply an eyeshadow primer first and then only apply your eyeshadow. Most eyeshadow primers will help your makeup last longer and stay crease-free.

3) Going too bright.
There is nothing wrong with experimenting…but as for eye makeup, very bright or neon colours only look

8 Makeup Tricks to make your face look slimmer

Contour makeup
If you’ve ever seen celebrities without makeup look unrecognizable, then you know how transformative certain techniques can be. These easy makeup tricks can take 10 pounds off your look, instantly — they’re optical illusions!
1. When it comes to makeup, dark shades recede, while light colors bring features forward. To use this idea to your advantage, you’ll need a contour color or matte bronzer one or two shades deeper than your skin tone and a luminous highlighter that’s a bit lighter than your complexion. You can use cream or powder textures, or a combination of the two. No matter which formula you choose, be sure to use a makeup brush to blend — streaky contour makeup is a major don’t.

2. Create the illusion of thinner cheeks by applying your contour shade in a diagonal line from the center of your cheek to the ear. Make a slight “fish face” while you do this to figure out the perfect placement, and don’t forget to blend. The higher you place your contour shade, the sharper your cheekbones will look. Swipe highlighter across the tops of the cheekbones to really bring out the contour.

3. Fake a thinner nose: swipe a contour powder down the sides of the bridge of your nose (stop before you

Makeup Tips - How to apply mascara on a sensitive eyes

http://images.totalbeauty.com/content/photos/makeup-for-sensitive-eyes-01-intro-8.jpg
  1. Don’t apply mascara at the base of your lashline (at the roots)! You can try with a natural mascara and see if your eyes can withstand it, but with regular mascara, don’t use the wand vertically and try to keep the formula away from the roots (where it’s too close to your eyes).
  2. If your eyes are really sensitive, you should skip rimming the inner waterline with a pencil. Just keep it clean and bare.
  3. Don’t apply mascara on the bottom lashes and just leave them bare.  You can define the bottom lashline with shadow instead and still get the same effect.
  4. Apply mascara to the upper lashes by starting a millimeter or so from the roots by holding the wand horizontally then pulling it through to the tips.
